November Newsletter
Hello Aave community!
We’re back with our monthly newsletter to keep you posted on the latest technical developments, events, new partnerships, and of course the community! We’ll keep it short and sweet.
First up, the Aave Protocol is released on the Kovan testnet! You can try it out following our brand new Zero to Hero guide here.
Events & Community
Aave was in San Francisco for SF Blockchain Week, and we were thrilled to host the SF DeFi hackathon! 6 teams hacked on Aave Protocol for a total of 4,000 Dai to be awarded to the most interesting hacks. The hackathon coincided with the release of Aave protocol and huge features such as stable interest rate switch and flash loans. This hackathon was the perfect opportunity for talented devs to get creative, play with these innovations, and apply their own solutions.
Check out our SF swag:
Aave threw a buzzing happy hour with our Defi friends Set, Dydx and Matic. We were pleased to share the excitement of AAVE with over 100 SFBW attendees and VIPs.

Additionally, we attended the ETHWaterloo Hackathon where we had a front row to seat to some of the coolest ETH projects and informative presentations of the year. It was a wonderful to hear thoughts from the man behind it all (Vitalik that is) at his very own alma mater.
Aave was hyped to work with the Gitcoin team at the Web3 World hackathon! Our high expectations were surpassed and the results were super impressive: monitoring tools, flash loan features, stable rates, rebalancing scripts, and new features to the rDAI project as a flavor of aTokens. If you’re curious, you can read about the coolest hacks here.
We are so excited to grow our talented developer ecosystem, and we are proud of everyone who hacked on Aave Protocol!
